Saltwater Park!

One of the things I never really paid attention to before Mikayla was just how many awesome state parks we have around Seattle. Lots of great views, playgrounds & swings for Mikayla to play on, and it's cheap! Last weekend we packed up a picnic and went to Saltwater park in Federal Way. Here's Mikayla and Jeremy checking out the view:
But soon enough, all Mikayla wanted to do was walk, walk, walk!
She tested out her Pediped shoes for the first time. They're ridiculously overpriced for baby shoes, but they're made of soft materials with leather bottoms that are as close to being barefoot as you can get for shoes. Mikayla is so new to walking I wanted her to have good shoes while she was still learning. She walks much better in her Pedipeds than in her regular shoes!Driftwood with an ocean background = photo op! Watching Mikayla walk is one of the cutest things ever. She usually puts one or both arms up in the air for balance, she looks like a little monkey when she trucks along! And she concentrates so hard, usually peering down at her feet often to make sure she's doing this walking business right. She's so happy too, like she feels like a big girl who's going places! You really appreciate the little things when you see them through a child's eyes...
