Today was Mikayla's first day at her baby gymnastics class! I took a trial class with her earlier this week but the timing of that class didn't work very well with M's nap schedule, so we decided to try out a weekend class instead. That meant Jeremy could join us too! Here are Jeremy and Mikayla before class:

Warming up with the teacher. She said, "Everybody reach down and grab your toes!" and Jeremy had this intense look of panic on his face - ha!

We started by doing an obstacle course:

Balance beam!

A little wobbly at first, but she started to get the hang of it:

Lots of fun climbing up and down on the big squishy mats!

One of the teachers helping Mikayla tumble! The first time she cried, the second she looked a little uncertain, and the third she giggled and smiled!

Hanging from the bar like a monkey!

This part made us nervous - hanging from rings! That's her teacher Kevon showing her how to hold the rings:

And color us surprised when they let go and she hung on and swung!

She did it! Our little Olympic gymnast! :)

Mikayla loved this one, we laid her across a big cylinder mat and rolled her back and forth doing a partial handstand:

Weeeeeee!

One of her favorite parts, bouncing on the trampoline!

Boing, boing, boing!

Jeremy had to get in on that action too!

She also liked climbing over mats while using this double bar contraption:

All in all, thumbs up for gymnastics class! We signed her up for the Fall session and can't wait to see what our little gymnast learns next! :)
