A day at Seahurst Park.

Ahhhh, spring is in the air! Well, almost anyways. We've had unusually warm sunny weather in Seattle and we've been determined to make the most of it. Mikayla LOVES to be outdoors now - I think it's because she's noticing so much more and loves to see and touch everything. As soon as we step out the front door she gets this big grin on her face. She loves when the sun hits her face and the wind blows her hair. On a particularly lovely day last week we decided to take a trip to Seahurst Park, our favorite little spot with lots of trees and a beach. We took Mikayla there when she was just a newborn, but this was the first time she's been there and really aware of her surroundings. Jeremy immediately took her to look at the ocean:
She just stared and stared at it for the longest time. I think she thought it looked like a big oversized version of her ducky bathtub at home:
We set her down on a blanket and let her soak up some sun and play in the sand:
But we had to make time to play with Daddy on the beach. Like the fun game of "let's jab Daddy in the eye!"
But enough of the violent sports, it's time to cuddle...Jeremy was a Boyscout for a long time, so he took it upon himself to start showing Mikayla the different types of trees in the park: That one was kind of big, how about one more her size? I think when we found out that we were going to have a girl Jeremy was a little nervous - we were so sure that we were having a boy, and he was really looking forward to taking camping trips and exploring the great outdoors with a son. But I think he still got his little nature lover, just in a cuter more girly form. :)
